Looking After Your Mental Health
One of the things I have always been big on is taking care of my mental health. I have worked hard on this for the last number of years. It is a hard process.
It’s funny when you look at it – I no longer tolerate what I would have in my 20s. That is part of the process. Figuring out what your tolerance level is.
I have done lots of counselling in my life and I still do every month. I do a check-in once a month with my counsellor. Why you might ask? I believe taking care of your mental health is as important as your physical health.
One thing I do is I am always reading. I also keep a daily journal using the Day One App. Keeping a journal helps me express my thoughts and feelings to just myself. This is important and part of my self-care process.
I also have become such a fan of Dr. John Delony. He is a mental health podcaster on the Ramsey Network.
Some of his resources:
- John’s podcast can be found by clicking here.
- His book Own Your Past Change Your Future is one of my favourites.
- His latest book is Building a Non-Anxious Life.
