Episode 2 “Rob In 5” – F1 Fun and Sports Radio in Toronto
Everybody Rob here with Rob in five. So, on this week, I want to talk About a couple topics that are all about sports. And I know it’s not gonna rub everybody the right way. So, let’s start with Formula 1. George Russell, Max verstappen. What a mess that is. The two of them have been posturing ever since Russell went into the steward’s room at last week’s race.
And complained and cost Max to pull. It also reminds me of two prize heavyweight boxers having a stare down. Trying to get in to each other’s head. And I think that’s what Russell and verstappen are trying to do. It’s just play some games and let’s see how far we can get into each other’s head at this point.
And it doesn’t really matter. Frankly. Because, Max has already clinched, his four Championship. And the only thing on the line, this weekend is the Constructors and that’s between McLaren and Ferrari. And based on. Will Clark getting a 10 spot grid penalty for changing a battery. I think. Mclaren has got the edge going into the weekend.
So that’s my take on that. And while we’re talking Formula One, let’s talk about Lewis Hamilton.
There’s no question in my mind.
Mercedes has been playing with who’s Carl season. They know he’s leaving for Ferrari. He really don’t care. They’re not in Constructors. Contention. So you might as well use them as a guinea pig for next year and sabotage them. I think there’s a lot of that going on. So Lewis, hold your head.
High set all the right things in the medium and you should be congratulated on dealing with this. Proper. So that kind of is my take on Formula One a little bit for the week. Um, I want to jump to another subject. And that sports radio. It’s specifically Sports Radio in Toronto.
And that’s the retirement of Bob McAllen affectionately known as Bobcat. Bob is sports radio in this country. He was worth 1430, cjcl. Started in sports in 1975. He was the original Trump Blue Jays public address announcer. He also did sports line up at Global when the original parts of that.

And when Rogers, let him go, what did he go and do he started a podcast called the Bob McAllen show with John Shannon? His last episode was a couple weeks ago. Bob should. Be commended for his amazing coverage of sports. All these years in Canada, Frankly. He’s the golden can, the greatest of all time in sports, radio, sports radio in this country is Bob McAllen.
There is no doubt. And I just want to say, That Bob will be surely surely missed. Rob Cairns With Robin five. Have a great weekend everybody. Bye for now.
