Commitments

I am a big one for keeping commitments in business. I get things. Life happens. Sometimes things go south.

Look at me I had major health issues at the end of February and ended up in the hospital for 8 days. This messed up all my commitments for 3 weeks.

I reached out and communicated with all my clients right away. I did not wait for them to contact me first. See the difference.

When I was healthy I kept all the commitments I had made.

Recently I had an issue where I recorded a podcast back in Feb. The person I recorded with had promised a special offer in the podcast. Two weeks went by, then 4 and so on.

Yesterday I asked if it was ready and they said it would be in a week. I have to say I think we would go down the same road and it will not be. I politely said I was moving on and would not be publishing the podcast. This is only the 3rd time in over 400 episodes I have recorded a full podcast and not published it.

I felt it would be a disservice to my community to publish the episode with someone who did not seem to care what they promised the listener in the podcast.

The moral here is if you can not commit reach out to the person you made it with and explain—things do happen. Then revise the commitment with a realistic time frame. This would make things much better.
